The Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) has a remarkable history of almost 70 years. In 1923, the Lee Commission suggested establishing a Central Public Service Commission in India but gave little attention to setting up similar commissions at the provincial level. As a result, the recruitment and management of provincial services were largely left to the discretion of individual provincial governments, allowing them to develop and oversee their own recruitment processes until RPSC was eventually formed to centralize public service selection in Rajasthan.
